More about the producers of the wine we’ll be tasting:
The Landing
Since the founding of The Landing Wines in 2007, we have honoured the area’s pioneering spirit with our innovative approach, and respected the land’s beauty and abundance by nurturing and restoring it through sustainable viticulture.
Since 2010, The Landing Wines has produced boutique vintages of Chardonnay, Syrah, Pinot Gris, Rosé and Port, which have won awards and received significant accolades from respected wine critics. Our outstanding 2019 harvest was the first to include fruit from our new red grape varieties, providing exciting opportunities for our winemaking team to craft new single varieties and blends.
Morepork
Morepork Vineyard was planted by Phil and Rosemary Minehan on their property near Kerikeri in Northland. The vineyard comprised two very small single variety blocks on an early ripening, sheltered, sunny north facing site.
Morepork Pinot Gris has received awards every year since first vintage in 2009 and in 2017 was included in Michael Cooper’s “The Country’s 25 best Pinot Gris”
Marsden Estate
Planted in the early nineties, Marsden Estate’s 10 acres of vineyards comprise Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Muscat, Merlot, Pinotage, Chambourcin, Syrah and Tempranillo.
Many are award winners, reflecting the philosophy that the winemaking is carried out in the vineyard and that the process should encourage the natural flavours of the grape.
Rogue Vineyard
The vineyard is on a 5ha North facing block on Te Kowhai Point Rd overlooking the TePuna Inlet / Bay of Islands – growing on the soils of ancient Kauri forests with a sundrenched mico climate suited to grape production.
Kainui Road
At the Plough & Feather you will find a wide array of award winning local wines from our sister company, Kainui Road Vineyard. Kainui Vineyard is a small, sustainable, family run vineyard in sunny Kerikeri. Planted in 2008 with their first vintage in 2010 and they have been producing award winning wine ever since. Kainui Road produces Syrah, Tempranillo, Gewuztraminer, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay for the local market
This is sure to be an unforgettable evening of food, wine, and spirited discussion under the Matariki stars. Don’t miss out! Seats are limited and expected to sell out so make a booking now by calling: 09-407 8479.
